Weather still looks great for weekend! Some smaller lakes to try for walleyes would be Long Lake, Ann Lake, and Pelican Lake. Shiner minnows and jumbo leeches will be scarce so call ahead.
Sunfish and crappies are biting in the Starbuck marina. Water temps are low 60’s in area lakes. Best lake to try for walleye opener would be Lake Emily. Bad thing about Emily is small lake access. Lake Reno and Pomme should also be good. All these lakes are shallow and will have warm water temps.
Fishing report for Lake Minnewaska and area remains the same as last week. We had another week of cool rainy weather. The water temps are finally going to go up with warmer weather and that will trigger the panfish bite. Walleye opener is May 13. Look for fishing updates next week leading up to the opener!
Crappie and sunfish have slowed on Lake Minnewaska due to cold weather. Warm and sunny weather will bring these fish back to Starbuck Marina. Also fish hatchery bay on Glenwood side will be good for panfish. Got an accurate report that sunfish are biting in the bays on Lake Reno. We need nice weather to keep these panfish biting!
Weekend panfishing on Lake Minnewaska and other Alexandria lakes was excellent! With this week’s cooler temps this activity has slowed. The Minnesota- South Dakota border water walleye opener was good due to the nice weather we had. Look for panfish and border water walleye to improve with warmer temps.
Same as last week. Cool weather has kept water tempts from warming. Need sunny warm days to get water temp in fifties.
