Fish houses have to be off area lakes by 3/5/18. Sunfish are being caught on Glenwood side of Waska. Panfish will get better when water starts running in the holes. Getting around on the lakes has gotten difficult due to the snow.
Exactly the same as last week. Gamefish season closes Sunday for inland MN lakes. Houses have to be off the lakes by 3/5/18. Pretty quite end to this walleye season.
Late season fishing patterns have set in. Walleyes are slow with a few being caught at night. Panfish during the day has not improved due to the cool temps. Have not heard of any hot lakes to mention. Seek and you will find. Good luck!
Basically the same as last week. No hot lake but fish are still being caught. Usually walleyes start to slow up in Feb. but has not happened yet. Panfish will start to improve when the weather warms up.
Walleyes on Minnewaska still being caught at dark and throughout the night. Minnows on plain pink or red #4 hooks have been best. Panfish during the day has been good on Glenwood side of Waska. Try Maple, Little Mary, Rachael, Freeborn, or Oscar for panfish. Northerns being caught on tip-ups on area lakes. Reno has been good for walleyes after dark.
Nothing has changed since last week. Fish can be caught but it has been tough. Area lakes still report uneven ice thickness. Ida, Miltona , and Waska had trucks go through the ice this past week. Large trucks and hugh wheel houses use caution!
A good of for fishing. People are catching some walleyes on Waska. Also panfish and northerns have been good on Waska. Check Maple, Little Mary, Freeborn, and Rachael for panfish and northerns. Ann lake has been good for walleyes. Walleye and crappies have been inconsistent on Reno.
Fishing this past week has been good. Ice conditions on area lakes is good with 18 inches common. Walleyes on Waska has been best in late afternoon and night in 18-20 feet of water. Sunfish and crappies have been good on Glenwood side of lake. Spear fishermen have said Waska is best lake in area for northerns. Maple lake has been good for panfish. Reno for crappie and walleye but inconsistent. Smaller lakes around Alexandria are producing panfish. Walleye activity has been best in Sauk Centre area. Call Fletcher’s Baitshop for current report.
I have had computer problems so I am late. Walleyes on Waska are in 18-20 feet of water. Best time has been late afternoon using fatheads or shiner minnows. Panfish activity has been good on the Glenwood side of Waska. There has been a lot of fishing activity on Reno. Crappie and walleye are being caught. Maple Lake has been good for Panfish. Try Miltona in late afternoon for walleyes.
Most area lakes are reporting 12-14 in. of ice. Large wheel houses and car-truck traffic seem to be good. Use common winter caution and have fun!
