The same as last week. The best walleye fishing on Waska has been late at night when it is quite. Not much to report for panfish on area lakes. Spear fishermen say area lakes have cleared up. With warmer weather would be a good time to go fishing!
Ice on all area lakes is now well over 14 inches. Walleyes on Waska are in 20-22 feet of water. Jigs and fatheads are working best. Reno and Emily still good for walleyes but you will have to search for them. Crappies are on Glenwood side of Waska. Maple has sunfish but they are small. Area lakes are clearing up for spearing northerns.
The ice on our area lakes has not gotten any thicker, still 10-12 inches. More fishing activity on all the lakes. No hot lake or fish species to talk about. You will have to search for a hot bite. Good luck and happy new year.
Most area lakes now have 10-12 inches of ice. No vehicle traffic yet as people are being cautious. Wheelers and bigger houses have been getting out. Walleye fishing has been good on the lakes. Most people are using fatheads or shiner minnows. Crappies use minnows and sunfish waxworms or euro-larvae. Weather looks good after this weekend so get out and enjoy. Merry Christmas!
What a difference a week makes! Most area lakes have 6-9 inches of ice. Waska has houses all over the lake including the hole. I haven't seen any big wheel houses on any area lakes yet. We do have a snow storm coming with 6-8 inches predicted. Bitter cold next week. All fishing activity the past week was for walleyes.
Finally have ice and by end of weekend we will have some fishing reports. Ice fishing has started on Emily with 3 inches of ice being reported. No other area lake reports about ice thickness. Call ahead for latest ice conditions.
Still no ice and no reports. Good news is cold is on the way and by next week we should have some good reports from area lakes.
Nothing new to report. Still no cold ice making weather. Have had no fish reports this past week.
Same as last week. Fewer anglers and we need cold weather for lakes to freeze up.
Report is same as last week. Walleyes still being caught on Emily and Minnewaska. Fishing pressure is nil. Everyone is waiting for ice up. Also the hunting seasons are on. Deer and pheasant hunters have done fairly well. We need cold weather to make some ice!
